Foundation Shades?? So confused!?

I have to admit...i am a little scared about foundation. I have tried some before, but it was either to light, too dark, or too ORANGEY. I use tinted moisturizer, but I want better coverage. I do have very light skin. How do you find the perfect shade? Please help! I am tired of the mask look, the orange look, the too much makeup look. I want a dewy, fresh looking face. You've just listed my main reasons for switching to mineral makeup. I can blend it to where it looks so natural.





But, I have recently been tempted to try one of the new ';made to match'; type foundations that Cover Girl (True Blend, I think) and Revlon have come out with.

You don't have to purchase it there, but tell them that you want something with light, not transparent coverage, and they will more than likely pick a few shades and hopefully brands for you to try.


鈾ee if any of the brands are offering makeovers, too.


鈾heck out store policies on returns. If you wind up with something you really don't like, see if they will allow you to return or exchange it.


鈾f you don't purchase at a department store take the tips you've learned and use them to find the one for you.

-Never test foundation on your hand. Instead, apply it to your jawline.





-If you can't choose between two shades, choose the lighter one.





- Try a yellow-based foundation first. Yellow is the natural undertone of all human skin.





- Go outside to see if the foundation is right for you. Fluorescent and other artificial lighting will alter the actual appearance of your foundation.





-If you have dry skin, look for a liquid foundation that will moisturize your dry skin.





-If you have combination skin, determine if you鈥檙e more dry or oily and then go with a foundation that leans toward that skin type. If you can鈥檛 decide, cream or powder foundations are great for combination skin types.





-If you have oily skin, stick with a liquid or powder foundation that say oil-free or oil-control on the container.





-For normal skin, you can choose whatever form of foundation you feel more comfortable with.

well, you want your foundation to be the same shade and color as your neck, as for people who don't do this, they usually end up with a border of foundation round there neck, which can look orange and carelessly done, when sometimes that's really not the case. my advice to you is, use testers at makeup stores, then you can't go wrong right?
my advice to you is to go to your make up store and do the following:


* choose a foundation (any) and rub it on the back of your hand.


* then, if you think it looks good on your hand, choose it (maybe rub a little on your face, to see what it looks like) .





it's always good to try something before buying it, trust me!!!
