Can i wear a foundation/powder 1-2 shades lighter?

cuz i want my skin to look much brighter rather than tired and dull and

even with a foundation or powder in my exact skin tone it

it doesnt brighten my face making it look dull...so is it ok and

will it look naturalCan i wear a foundation/powder 1-2 shades lighter?
Yes, but I don't suggest going lighter than one shade. A foundation that is too light can give your skin an ashen, grey appearance. Just make sure to blend it in with your neck and ears. Wear some blush to brighten as well. Can i wear a foundation/powder 1-2 shades lighter?
Go for the foundation that matches your skin tone and if you want to brighten your face, use a highlighting powder. If you just go with something that's 1-2 shdades lighter than your skin tone it's just going to look bad. It'll just look like a mask of discoloration on your face. When you highlight your face, try dusting the powder across the center of your forehead, your cheekbones, down the bridge of your face, and on your chin. That should help subtly brighten up your face. Good luck!
it okay, I use a shade lighter to blend my skin tone. However you need to put the foundation in a thin layer so it can look nature. check out he link from allure on how to apply foundation.

1) To prevent makeup from settling into lines and acne scars, prep skin with a primer. Smear it on everywhere you intend to apply foundation or concealer. We love Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer because it dries in seconds and doesn't feel filmy. (Or, to kill two birds with one stone, try Cover Girl Outlast All-Day Liquid Makeup)鈥?it's primer and foundation in one formula.)

2) Depending on your preference, dampen a sponge or brush (our picks: the tear-shaped BeautyBlender Sponge and the Giorgio Armani Foundation Brush by wetting it and squeezing out excess water with a paper towel.

3) Pour a nickel-size drop of foundation into your hand, and dip the brush or the pointed end of the sponge into it. For light coverage, we love Giorgio Armani Foundation Brush, which is radiant but not slick; for medium coverage, Est茅e Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup is the most durable one we've tried; and for oily or acne-prone skin, Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation is oil-free and feels as light as a serum, but provides surprisingly thorough coverage. If you like pressed-powder foundations, try L鈥橭real Paris True Match Super-Blendable Powder. And when it comes to tinted moisturizer, nothing beats Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20.

4) Spread the foundation onto your skin in the thinnest possible layers. Makeup artists swear that if you start at your forehead and move down toward the nose, cheeks, and chin, you'll get the most natural-looking finish. (It helps to smooth down all the little hairs on your cheeks and keeps you from ODing on tricky areas, like your jawline.)
I am a professional makeup artist and I like to use 2 or 3 shades of foundation, your color 1 or 2 lighter and 1 or 2 darker. highlight and diminish where you want to. Under eyes, highlight, below cheekbones diminish, cheekbones highlight, you know. Light colors make things appear larger, and dark makes it look smaller. p.s. thats how you get amazing looking cleavage! lol
One or two shades lighter is okay, but you have to make sure you blend very well and the rest of your body is in tact too. If your face is pale and your neck is tan ... That would look quite strange.

I would just mix some liquid highlighter with my foundation/tinted moisturizer so I get more of a dewy glow instead of just dull foundation.

You could also dust some highlighting powder (MAC MSF's are really good for that) so that your face looks brighter.

Personally, I think if you brighten your eyes and put some blush one, your face is usually brightened enough.
NONONONONONONONOOOOOO

Trust me!

If you want to make your face look brighter use bronzer to highlight your features.

Wearing foundation and powder too light will not brighten your face. Just make you look pale and gross. Especially since your face will be a completely different colour the the rest of your body.

If you want to look natural go for your skin color, or just use sheer mineral powder.
You can wear comapct which is lighter than your skin....Why dont you use a comapct like Maybelline. It is silky smooth and non -patchy which blends with your skin very well... They have multiple shades for your skin.....Maybelline Whitestay gives you an instant glow to your skin.
You know, professional make up artists say to go 1-2 shades lighter for a brighter look and a more natural look.
Yeah you can do whatever you want.

I suggest putting on a tint of blush or bronzer for a bit of color.
Yes, but make sure you apply it evenly on face, neck, etc.
