How do I find the correct foundation shade?

My skin is a little tan but has a golden undertone. So the foundations that are dark enough for me are too reddish. And the ones that aren't too reddish are too light. How do I find the correct foundation shade?
go to Sephora or Bergdorfs or any other top department store.

Ask a speacialist, then try the product. If it is too expensive ask them to reccommend one with a similar shade for a cheaper cost. If you stilll find it too expensive, take a pic of the color or put a little on your hand or a clean napkin, go to a drug store such as Shoppers or Boots and see if you can match the shade. It is always best to have professional advice

Try some on on your hand, and if you think you have the right shade, try it on your forehead. Your forehead is the darkest part of your face as it is hit by the sun the most. It should disappear
put some on the back of your wrist and see if it blends in.

otherwise you could go to sephora and they can match a foundation exactly to your skin color
when it matches with ur neck
