How do I know what shade of foundation I am?

I'm looking at foundation here: http://csis.pace.edu/~bergin/KarelJava2e鈥?/a>

I always end up buying the wrong shade, how can I tell which one I am?How do I know what shade of foundation I am?
You will not find the proper foundation by trying it on your hand.

Your hand is always darker than your face.Unless you wear gloves every day.......That's a different show.

Anyway, go to your local department store. Now depending on your ethnicity ie; White, Black, Asian etc. you can decide which brand will best suit you.

1. Iman- best suit all women of colour.%26amp; Whites with a yellow undertone, but they usually find it too heavy.

2.Estee Lauder,Elizabeth Arden, Lancome- best suit women with pale to med skin tone.Their dark colours are never a right match.

Then there is Mac.They have a varied selection, but if you are darker than say roasted peanut your out of luck.Go to Iman. These counters usually have a trained consultant to help you. Good LuckHow do I know what shade of foundation I am?
when you are testing foundations stripe them down your cheek and onto your jawline, which ever shade disappears is the shade for you.
when you go to a store to buy it,they usually have samples... demo the sample on your hand and blend it in, if it matches the rest of your hand erfectly you know, if u can tel even a slight difference that will be visable on yor face! good luck!
Get a makeup artist to do a colour match. The makeup should match your skin tone...and remember it is always better to add a little colour than ever take any away.
look at samples and see what's close to your skin, test it by putting some samples on your jaw.
go to the store.. dont ever buy online until you know exactly what ur color is.. so go to the store and find out with the help of the cosmetic counter lady or man...
yes choose a shade that matches ur skin tone
The best way would be to contact a Mary Kay consultant. They will come to you and take the time to help you choose the right shade and formula. If you don't know of any in your area go to http://marykay.com/npina-barnes and start there.
The best way to know how to pick the perfect color is, if you can, rub a small amount of different shades on the top part of your hand. The closer the color is to your hand color, the better match you will have for your face :)
Choose the shade that best matches up with ur skin!!!! :)
