Foundation shades?

I have a foundation which is slightly darker than my skin colour (beige), and it doesn't really cover up my spots as well as the foundation i have which is much lighter (ivory- my skin colour). Why is this?? I would have thought that a darker colour would cover them up more. Can someone explain this! lol.Foundation shades?
You need to find a foundation exact to your skin tone otherwise you are making them look more obvious. Rub a little on the back of your hand if you can see an outline then you need to go up or down a shade.Foundation shades?
haha ive had this problem you need to moisturise before you put your foundation on and if that dont work then put cocealer all over your face and then your foundation this way you can make your skin lighter or darker no matter what the foundation lol. x

the darker the faoundation the older youll look.

you should wear your skin color not darker or lighter!

and no thats not the case CONCEALER is what covers the spots or whatever and that should be a shade lighter then your skin. so do the following:

wash face

moisturize

primer

concealer-only to eye area and/or blemishes adn spots

and/or foundation

and/or powder

oh and look for your shade apply a some from your cheeck to your neck one line and if it blends quick taht should match your skin color OR go to a professinal so they can get you the right shade
Often when you cover up spots with lots of make-up it just draws more attention to it, making it look worse than it did before the make-up was applied.

I think the reason the foundation that matches your skin shade works better, is purley because it matches your skin shade. It makes it look less obvious your wearing it and you can also blend it into your skin really well.

Don't forget, it also depends on what type of foundation you bought. If they're different types that would be why.
Foundation has to match your skin tone. Too light you'll look like a ghost, too dark you'll look splotchy. Apply concealer only to areas that need concealing...zits, circles under eyes, and shadow around nose. Then apply the foundation lightly over that followed by powder. (If you use liquid). However, if you get a tan your spots will look less noticeable.
why do you need to know if ivory works well and is your face colour ?

the darker foundation would be used as a highlighter for the spots in this case

if you put dark bits where you spots are, then people are bound to notice, even if they cant see a spot

they'll be able to see the dark foundation standing out

heh

xx
It could be that they are a different make or some foundations (e.g. Boots) have different levels of coverage - maybe one is a light coverage %26amp; the other is heavier ??!!
It's the coverage and formula, not the color. Try a concealer. I like Arbonne.
