Seriously, can't find right shade of foundation?

I've been back to the Clinique counter at least 3, 4 times in the past 3 months - all because I'd find that my shade is way too dark or too light... It always looks fine when I look at it in the store (usually by the door where the sunlight is).

Is there any hope? Do these Clinique workers have any idea what they're doing?Seriously, can't find right shade of foundation?
Try a different brand and don't be afraid to mix colors.Seriously, can't find right shade of foundation?
To be honest... just because someone works in cosmetics, doesn't neccessarily mean they can apply or give best makeup advice.

Try other places... or do what I did.

Experiment with different stuff until YOU know what works for you. My ethnicity is ';Black';, and it's not easy finding my color(s). My skin tone is not dark, but the light shades are TOO light. You may find yourself using two shades of foundation. Especially if you have uneven skin tone.

TRUST ME... THERE'S HOPE!

BUT...

Nope! Those Clinique workers don't have any idea...

or maybe they're not too experienced to work will ALL colors!
yeah clinique arent great at matching colours, the lady who advised me got it three shades wrong. dont look at it in the store. u must go outside to have a proper look. im too pale for even their lightest in the superbalaned foundation range, the alabaster, but their color ranges are better than some. see if you can get them to give you a little tester pot then go home and try it in front of the mirror where you usually apply your make up. best of luck...
well if you ask them they should help you find the right one but if that doesn't work:

Get a few different ones and put a streak of it on your cheek and let it dry a little because they can get lighter or darker when they dry. Then when you find one that fits just make sure you're blending it in completely
idk find a medium shade one that is not too dark or not too light u know a medium shade maybe the perfect thing
