Is foundation supposed to be a shade lighter then your skin?

Is foundation supposed to be a shade lighter then your skin tone.Is foundation supposed to be a shade lighter then your skin?
No, your concealer is supposed to be one shade

lighter than your skin because it has more pigments

to help cover imperfections. While foundation sets

an even finish to the face so when you look at your

face you see one tone. So try your best to match

your foundation to the color of your face.Is foundation supposed to be a shade lighter then your skin?
No, foundation should blend and pratically become part of your skin tone...

I would match the best shade on a clean face, on jawbone and blen into neck.

If it matches, it is Perfect!

Understand too, with some drugstore brands generic colours and lack of shade gradients may require you to mix colours.

Consider having a lighter shade which matches your winter skin, and a more tanned shade. If you mix, usually you will find a great shade to wear all times!
you should not be able to see foundation at all it should blend right in w/ your skin.

you should re check your foundation with your skin color every 6 mos.
Like everyone else has said, it should match your skin. I have been using the mineral powder type foundations and find they are very easy to blend and look fantastic. You also do not have to worry about a separate concealer because you just take a small brush and blend the same powder to your spots before using the fluffy brush all over your face. It is also very quick!

If you really like liquid, Trublend by Covergirl is excellent and easy to match to your skin.
nope, i beliv its suposed to be 2 shades darker.
Foundation is not supposed to be lighter than your skin. When you purchase foundation it has to sort of blend into your skin. It has to exactly match your skin tone. Foundation is supposed to be like your second skin. A good way to know if the foundation is your perfect skin match is to do the Jaw-Line test. Pick about 3 shades that closely match your skin tone, and then apply it to your jaw-line in 3 streaks. Whichever color blends into your skin thats the one you want to go for and buy. But when it comes to picking concealer, the concealer is supposed to be lighter than your skin tone. I would suggest going 1 shade lighter. I hope this helped...good luck *_*
